Daily Itinerary

This day by day itinerary gives you a clear idea of how the 3 Days Marrakech Desert Tour is planned. You will see the main stops, driving routes, desert experience, and what to expect each day from Marrakech to Merzouga and back.

DAY 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Merzouga Desert

Your 3 Days Marrakech Desert Tour starts with an early pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We leave the busy city behind and drive toward the High Atlas Mountains, one of the most scenic roads in Morocco. Along the way, you will cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with wide mountain views, Berber villages, and great photo stops.

The journey continues to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most beautiful examples of traditional Moroccan mud architecture. You will have time to walk through the old village, enjoy its historic atmosphere, and learn why this place has been used in many famous movies.

After lunch, we continue through changing landscapes, from mountains and valleys to dry desert roads, until we reach the Merzouga area near the Sahara Desert. In the evening, you will check into a comfortable hotel or riad, enjoy dinner, and relax before the camel ride and desert camp experience on the next day.

DAY2: Merzouga Desert Full Day: 4x4 Exploration & Nomad Villages Tour

Day 2 is the day you experience the real beauty of the Merzouga Desert. You can start the morning with sunrise views over the dunes from your riad, followed by breakfast before beginning a 4×4 desert tour around Erg Chebbi.

During the day, you will visit nomad families who still live in the desert and learn about their simple daily life while sharing mint tea with them. You will also visit Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music, where you can enjoy traditional rhythms and local culture. After a local lunch, you will have time to relax before the desert camp experience begins.

In the late afternoon, you will meet your camels and ride into the golden dunes at sunset. This is one of the most memorable moments of the tour. After arriving at the desert camp, enjoy dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a peaceful night under the Sahara stars.

DAY 3: Merzouga Desert - Agdz - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Day 3 begins with an early wake up to watch your final sunrise over the Merzouga dunes. After taking photos and enjoying the quiet morning atmosphere, you will ride your camel back or return by 4×4 to meet your driver, then have breakfast before starting the journey back to Marrakech.

The return road takes you through the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most beautiful oasis valleys, filled with thousands of palm trees and old villages. We will stop near Agdz for panoramic views, then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, where you can stop for lunch.

After that, we cross the High Atlas Mountains again and drive back to Marrakech. Arrival is usually in the evening, with drop off at your hotel or riad, ending your 3 Days Marrakech Desert Tour.
