DAY 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
Your 3 day Marrakech to Fes desert tour starts with pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech around 8:00 AM. We leave the busy city behind and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass with beautiful views of Berber villages, deep valleys, and mountain roads.
The main visit of the day is Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have time to walk through its old clay streets, learn about its history, and enjoy the views from the top. After lunch, we continue through Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” then pass the Valley of Roses on the way to Dades Valley.
In the evening, you arrive at your hotel in Dades. Enjoy dinner, relax, and spend the night surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the valley.
DAY2: Dades Valley - Tinghir Oasis - Todgha Canyon - Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we leave Dades Valley and drive toward the Sahara Desert. Along the way, we stop in Tinghir to enjoy its beautiful palm oasis, old kasbahs, and green valley surrounded by dry mountains.
Next, we visit Todra Gorge, one of the most impressive canyons in Morocco. You can walk between the tall rock walls, take photos, and enjoy the fresh air before we continue toward Merzouga.
In the late afternoon, you arrive near the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Your luggage goes to the camp by car, and you start a peaceful camel trek across the dunes at sunset. At the desert camp, enjoy a Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a magical night in a comfortable tent under the stars.
DAY 3: Merzouga Desert - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas Mountains - Ifran - Fes
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, one of the most beautiful moments in the Sahara. After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin the journey north toward Fes.
The road takes you through the Ziz Valley, famous for its long palm groves, rocky cliffs, and scenic viewpoints. We then continue through Midelt and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, where the landscapes change from desert to forests and mountain towns.
On the way, we may stop near the cedar forest to see Barbary macaques before passing through Ifrane, known for its clean streets and alpine-style houses. In the evening, we arrive in Fes, where your 3 day Marrakech to Fes desert tour ends.

The trip covers a long distance. You should expect to spend about 5 to 7 hours driving each day. The longest part is the last day from the desert to Fes, which is about 7 to 8 hours. But we make many nice stops for photos, walks, and rest.
For the camel ride, wear clothes that are comfortable and loose. Long pants are best to stop rubbing. In the desert, the daytime is hot, so bring light, breathable clothes. But the nights are very cold, so you must bring a warm jacket, a sweater, and good socks for sleeping. A scarf, hat, and sunglasses are also needed for sun and sand protection.
