DAY 1: TANGIER ⇢ CHEFCHAOUEN

Your Morocco journey starts in Tangier, a city where Africa and Europe meet. After we pick you up from your hotel, port, or airport, we begin driving through the Rif Mountains towards Chefchaouen. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful green hills and small Berber villages that make the north of Morocco so special.

Chefchaouen, also called the Blue Pearl, welcomes you with its calm atmosphere and narrow blue-painted streets. You can walk through the old Medina, see the Kasbah, and relax in the main square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam. The blue colours, local crafts, and soft light make this town a wonderful place to take photos and enjoy a peaceful evening. You will spend the night in a local riad inside the Medina.

DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN ⇢ FES

After breakfast, we continue our trip towards Fes, one of Morocco’s most historical and cultural cities. On the way, we will pass through green farmlands and stop to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, which are very well preserved. You can walk among the old stones and mosaics and imagine how life was two thousand years ago.

Next, we head to Meknes, another Imperial City, where you can see the impressive Bab Mansour gate and the large square of El Hedim. In the afternoon, we reach Fes, where you will check into your riad in the Medina. In the evening, you can rest or take a small walk in the area near your accommodation.

DAY 3: GUIDED TOUR IN FES

Today is a full day dedicated to exploring Fes with a local guide who knows every corner of this city. Fes is one of the oldest and most traditional cities in Morocco, full of narrow streets, local shops, and ancient buildings. During your guided tour, you will visit the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest in the world, and the colourful tanneries where leather is still made in the old way.

You will also see the Madrasa Bou Inania, the Nejjarine Fountain, and several beautiful mosques and souks. Walking through Fes is like travelling back in time, with people working and living in the same way for many centuries. You will return to your riad in the evening, with time to rest and enjoy Moroccan dinner or mint tea.

DAY 4: FES ⇢ IFRANE ⇢ MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS ⇢ ZIZ VALLEY ⇢ MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, we leave Fes and start driving south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a small and clean town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its European-style houses and cold weather in winter. Then we pass through the cedar forests near Azrou, where you can see wild Barbary monkeys playing in the trees.

As we continue, the landscape slowly changes. The mountains turn into dry valleys and desert plains. We cross the Ziz Valley, known for its long oasis of palm trees and small traditional villages. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, near the Sahara Desert. Here your camel guide will take you on a camel ride into the dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset. Later, you will enjoy dinner and music around the fire in a desert camp, sleeping in a comfortable tent under the stars.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT ⇢ RISSANI ⇢ TODRA GORGE ⇢ DADES VALLEY

If you wake up early today, you will see the sunrise over the sand dunes, a truly magical moment. After breakfast in the camp, we ride back by camel or 4×4 to the village, and then we start our road towards the Dades Valley.

On the way, we visit Rissani, a small town with a traditional market and an important history as the old capital of the Alaouite dynasty. Later we drive through different Berber villages and reach the Todra Gorge near Tinghir, where high red cliffs rise up on both sides. It is a nice place to walk, take pictures, or simply admire the natural beauty.

By the afternoon, we arrive in the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. The views are amazing with strange rock formations called “monkey fingers”. You will spend the night in a local guesthouse or riad overlooking the valley.
